MAY 7, 2020
SEVWINS START DATE
Strong, composed and mature young man. Teammates view Keith as a team leader. Started at catcher and 4th and 5th in the varsity lineup as a Sophomore prior to the season getting cut short.
High-character leader. Always first one in and last out. Built to handle the grind of college baseball and beyond. Highly engaged with Sevwins, the growth mindset app, completing 90% of his growth reps. Sets concise goals, follows through on goals and is reflective in his writing.
Strong arm and quick release with sub 2.0 pop-time (personal best 1.91 at Perfect Game and I clocked him repeatedly at 1.93 to 1.96. Accurate thrower. Understands the game better than most and can see plays before they develop. Very good with pitchers. Able to correct pitchers verbally as well as physically using glove location and set up to command the pitch. Agile on his feet and very good blocker. Soft hands receiving around all parts of zone - soft on low pitches, sturdy on balls up and around the outside of the zone.
Very strong for his age. Solid contact. You know when he is hitting batting practice. Selective and controlled at the plate but aggressive on his pitches. Drives the ball to the right-center gap often with power and is able to easily react to pitches in. Quick hands and great balance.
Strong work ethic, high-character traits will make him successful from the moment he sets foot on a college campus. He is only scratching surface of his catching and hitting abilities.
